Case Study – City Square, Manchester City Eastlands Stadium

Client: Fabric Architectures Ltd.

Project: Architectural Support Steelwork for fabric canopies at Manchester City's Eastlands Stadium 'City Square' Development.

Scope: 50,000Kg Rolled Steel

Value: £200,000-00

Two large fabric canopies covering an area of 1500m2 were required for the City Square development outside Manchester City's Eastlands Stadium in Manchester.  Due to the very demanding time constraints of the project, Fabric Architecture Ltd. chose J. Fletcher (Engineers) Ltd. to provide the support steelwork for this elegant and important structure.

In order to make the 10-week project dead-line, J. Fletcher (Engineers) Ltd. utilised their extensive design, manufacture and installation experience to ensure that the painted mild-steel structures were ready on time. After transporting the steelwork to site J. Fletcher (Engineers) Ltd. planned the erection of the steelwork using heavy cranes, to minimise disruption to the general public.
Once in place, the fabric canopies were fitted and the completed structure handed over to the client.

J. Fletcher (Engineers) Ltd. offers

  • Structural and architectural steelwork design, manufacture and installation
  • Fast, efficient and adaptable service to end users and contractors
  • Complete Management of complex projects from concept to final handover
  • Extensive Eccles workshop facilities – Off-site manufacture, on-site assembly
