Batch Mercerisers

Batch mercerisers are suitable where only a relatively small production is required or where only caustification for dye yield is required.

The fabric passes in both directions through the machine, firstly for caustic impregnation and then secondly for washing after the fibres have had time to swell.

Because the fabric has plenty of time for the caustic soda to swell the fibres, a weaker solution of caustic soda can be used making for a very efficient process.

The majority of the fibre swelling takes place whilst the fabric is rolled up on the batch therefore leading to less fabric width shrinkage.

The machine can be supplied complete with caustic storage and cooling equipment and hot water heating all integrated in the machine so saving space. Batch Mercerisers are suitable where only a relatively small production is required or where only caustification for dye yield is required.
