The 3 ‑ Bowl Calender

The 3 - Bowl calender is normally recommended where higher speeds or friction is required. The machine can be equipped with one engraved Schreiner or embossed roll and one chrome plated steel roll providing either a smooth or engraved effect, without the need to change the steel bowls.

Special features include:
Infinitely variable friction ratio up to 300% by means of two motor DC or AC drive. As an alternative a fixed friction ratio can be supplied.
Level pressure camber control system for maintaining uniform pressure across the nip.

Operating Modes:
Rolling, Frictioning, Embossing.

Effects:
Matt finish, glazing, chintz, Schreiner or embossing.

Bowl configurations:
TOP: Chrome plated steel-heated or engraved steel-heated.
MIDDLE: Polyamide, cotton or woollen paper.
BOTTOM: Chrome plated steel.
